Name: Murphy Cadash
Canon: Dragon Age: Inquisition (Inquisitor OC)
Pull point: From between "Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts" and "What Pride Had Wrought."
Appearance: A little taller than average for a dwarf; stout and stocky-built; tattoos on forehead, cheeks, and chin, though not associated with any caste; dark hair, shoulder-length, and dark stubble, untameable; red-lined eyes; default expression of "mildly unimpressed."
History: Murphy grew up not far from Ostwick in the Free Marches. She was born casteless on the surface, has spent almost no time underground, and has almost no Stone-sense remaining. She was born into a Carta clan, where she worked as a runner, enforcer, and then spy until that duty led her to the Conclave.
Murphy’s criminal upbringing taught her a pragmatism that is a close cousin to ruthlessness. Her two priorities, growing up, were her own interests and the interests of the Cadash clan. This was a tense conflict; as a low-ranking spy and enforcer, the interests of the clan were always supposed to eclipse her own, which turned out less a rule to live by than a fine, fine line to tread between loyalty and self-preservation. Rather than resolving itself that conflict has shifted, from being between herself and the Carta to herself and the Inquisition.
Coming into Bloodtithe, having lost both the Carta and the Inquisition as backing institutions, she'll be leaning harder in the direction of "ruthless self-preservation" until given a reason to do otherwise.
Personality: Pragmatic and straightforward, bordering on ruthless. Louder when frustrated. Low-empathy in general, but with a fierce sense of loyalty. Sarcastic. The Inquisition's taught her a sense of decorum she didn't grow up with and a healthier appreciation for diplomacy over intimidation; she is more inclined to think before acting and to employ negotiation before attempting intimidation. Distrusts magic on principle, but mages on a case-by-case basis.
